Sunday 29 October 2005, in Washington, DC's
National Cathedral, Reverend Nancy Wilson -- tireless advocate for
civil rights, gay rights and women's rights -- was installed (left) as Moderator of the
Metropolitan Community Church in succession to founder,
Troy Perry.
Rev.
Wilson co-authored Amazing Grace with Fr. Malcolm
Boyd and authored Our Tribe: Queer Folks, God, Jesus and the
Bible (Alamo Press). Her poems and prayers are included in Race and Prayer edited by Malcolm Boyd and Chester
Talton (Morehouse Press). She is a popular preacher and speaker;
has been honored with the first “Lazarus Award” and was invited to
preach at the Earl Lectures at Pacific School of Religion in
January 2001 and again in 2002.
