Joanne had fallen in love with a woman, but didn't want to break up her family. She felt the isolation, pain and fear that most women feel when exploring their sexuality, but had nowhere to go for peer support and guidance. Knowing that other lesbians need this support but often do not find it, she has developed Lavender Visions, a program of groups for lesbians and women who are questioning their sexuality, located in Philadelphia.
