Coming OUt Age: 30


Story:

I came out (ish) the 1st time at the age of 20. I met my girlfriend in  hospital.
The relationship was rocky from the word go as we both had our problems. 
When the relationship ended i went back to my former male partner and eventually married him. 
I have a child from a relationship previous to that and belived that it was in my childs best 
interests to stay in a heterosexual relationship. During my marriage i had a couple of affairs 
with women but was still in the mind set that my child would be happier with a heterosexual mother. 

A few months ago my husband and i sat and discussed my sexuality and he was amazingly supportive 
(he still is). We came to the realization that neither of us were happy in the relationship for out 
different reasons so decided to go our seperate ways. 

I have since come out to myself, (not as easy as it sounds), my friends and my family. I still have 
an internal struggle with my sexuality regarding my child but i'm sure that as i get more confident 
in my new life i will find the ability to discuss my sexual orientation with him. 

To those that are thinking about coming out do it, its one of the most rewarding things i have ever 
done for myself. For those who are out well done and enjoy your life being you xx
